The main activities/ platforms that drive the MGMH, involve:

  • The MGMH website (
  • Monthly MGMH newsletter
  • Dealing with and responding to email enquiries via the MGMH’s dedicated email address (
  • The MGMH social media platforms (Facebook and Twitter), and
  • The biennial Global Mental Health Summit
  • Representation and engagement at public platforms discussing global mental health and human rights issues


Considering the mental health situation globally where the treatment gap is concerned, the Movement for Global Mental Health provides for an excellent platform to engage civil society (mental health professionals, researchers, policymakers, mental health organisations and persons with lived experience, included) by sharing:

  • Evidence-based information
  • Innovations and scalable interventions
  • Actual experiences of persons with lived experience
  • Influence and develop policy and plans for a global and national response to mental health
  • Promotion of participation in opportunities and events that discuss issues reflecting on the status in mental health coverage, gaps in service delivery, progress and best practice in mental health globally.
