Mental Health Professionals in the country has received training in Maternal Mental Health, Emotional Intelligence and Mental Health First Aid. This maiden cohort is the beginning of series of trainings designed for the members of the ‘Maternal Mental Health, Emotional Intelligence & Mental Health First Aid Project. The training was held from the 1st to the 4th of August, 2019 at University of Professional Studies Legon in Accra. In his opening address Mr. David Naboare, Project Director hinted on the need for the mental health professionals to be abreast with new dimension on how professionals and policy makers in mental health could tackle mental health issues and also try to look at some fundamental problems and finding appropriate solutions to them in the country. He expressed worry of the neglect of Maternal Mental Health issues, Emotional Intelligence and Mental Health first Aid capacity building in the primary health care system and put out many suggestions on how Mental Health Professionals could appropriately deal with contemporary challenges to be client specific
